Name: Malus Rosaceae
Nickname: Malu
Species: Pinata
Age: 70 years
Height/Weight: 35cm (~1ft 1in) ~1kg (2.2lbs)
Gender: Female
Reason for entering: To resurrect Alice, her only real friend.
Memento: Both a friendship bracelet and a Life Seed. (see Other)
Strengths:
Agile:
● Able to carelessly leap and dash around.
No stranger to danger
● Despite usually acting silly, she is very analytical and intelligent. This allows her to swiftly react to threats.
Abilities:
Sugar rush:
● By using the candy inside her as fuel, Malu gains a boost in reflexes, speed, and even a little strength.
● She can do this comfortably for a total of three minutes a day. Another minute makes her tired. After a fifth one, she will get nauseous.
● She can push this boost to be twice as powerful but uses up her reserves four times as fast. This can open up previous wounds.
● She can restore her candy after eating and resting.
Cutter-Claws:
● Her razor-sharp claws can be used for climbing, tools, and even self-defense.
● Too much pressure will rip them off, making it painful to step on those feet. But the claws can regenerate after a day.
Inside storage:
● Malu can swallow and spit out items.
● This storage has as much space as a small handbag.
● Those items are stored separately from her Fructose Candy.
● Cannot store sharp or other hazardous objects.
● Shaking her with her head downwards will force her to throw up the content.
Bandage-Tape:
● Looks similar to Masking Tape.
● Hard to tear but very easy to cut.
● Water makes it more fragile and dissolves the adhesive.
● Total of 10m (30 feet) in length.
● It can be used to patch up holes and cuts, but this restricts her movement.
Weaknesses:
Fragile torso:
● A regular kick can cause large cracks. More force can create holes.
● Holes are especially fatal on her belly as they quickly drain her candy.
Frail limbs:
● Lacks physical strength due to both her size and being made of paper.
● Limbs will start to tear when there is too much pressure on them.
Do not shake:
● Vibrations and loud or high-pitched sounds can make her dizzy and unable to move for some time.
● After getting used to it, she can move again, but only slowly. This takes about ten seconds.
Keep away from sharp edges:
● Her skin is easily cut by any sharp edge.
● While cracks and cuts can close while resting, those spots still hurt and are even more fragile.
Flammable:
● While waterproof, her paper-like skin catches fire quickly. This can cause fatal injuries if not put out immediately.
● Fire terrifies her. It's one of the few things that will make her stop and reconsider.
Daredevil:
● Prefers risky shortcuts over the long, boring route.
Personality:
Malu acts cheerful and carefree... to an often extreme degree. She seems unfazed by deadly situations, and those who get angry with her are only met with silly jokes. The Pinata loves to twist and stretch the truth to the point where few things she says can be taken at face value. While she cares about the people who treat her kindly, she has difficulties showing it.
She isn't hesitant to use dirty tricks to win. However, she would only injure others in self-defense. Pinatas have a strong aversion to killing, so Malu would only resort to it as a last resort.
History:
Pinatas must protect the Village from a young age, but this has never been an issue for Malu. Yet, despite all her successes, the exceptional Pinata had trouble finding friends among her closed-minded kin.
This changed once she met the social outcast, Alice. In only a few weeks, the two became best friends and started causing trouble for the Village. Their mischief abruptly ended when one of their pranks went awfully wrong. The result was Alice's death and Malu's exile into the merciless Wilderness.
Likes: Fruits (especially sweet ones), showing off, messing with people
Dislikes: Fire, being alone, strict rules
Other:
Life Seeds:
● Pinatas grow on trees. Once they die, they leave a Life Seed behind, from which a new tree can grow.
Fructose Candy:
● The little colorful sugar balls inside her are her energy source. If she runs out of them, she will die.
● They can leave her body through holes, cracks, and cuts. Especially when she moves a lot.
● Once the candy touches the ground, they are dirty and can not enter her body again. Consuming or using dirty candy as fuel will make her sick.
There are no male pinatas.
