Name: Laurestine
Alias/Nickname: Lauren
Species: Aero Golem
Age: Two months
Height/Weight: 7’2” | 370 pounds / 168 kilograms
Gender: None, masculine leaning
Reason for entering: Accidentally stumbled upon the Grove, and ended up being ordered to participate by their creator.
Memento: A small stone carved with a number of runes, these runes glowing a vibrant pink.
Strengths:
Golem Strength - As a golem construct, Laurestine has an unnatural amount of physical strength! At his best, he’s capable of deadlifting upwards of 725 kg! (1,600 pounds.) This strength diminishes the more aero gel he loses, though it can take a while before that effect becomes noticeable.
Unique Physiology - Due to his nature, Laurestine doesn’t take damage like others might; he can lose limbs or even have holes blown into certain parts of him and as long as he can retrieve the clay, he can repair himself!
Extreme Pain Tolerance - As a Golem, Laurestine has heavily dulled senses which includes pain, unable to feel any type of pain until it breaches to his inner aero-cores, and even then he has an alarming tolerance for punishment.
Abilities: ‘Flight’ - As an aero golem, Laurestine has the ability to fly… somewhat. He’s capable of hovering at a very slow speed; he can float vertically at a decent speed, but horizontal movement while hovering is painfully slow, nearly a snails pace.
Weaknesses:
Finite ‘blood’ - If Laurestine is damaged enough to start ‘bleeding’ out the aero gel within his form, he’s unable to regenerate it himself, and replenishing it can be tricky as the aero gel tends to float away once it leaves his form. If he runs low on aero gel, he risks complete deactivation; though even losing small amounts of gel has other risks, such as loss of strength, losing speed during his flight, further dulling of his senses if not outright losing them all-together, all until he loses consciousness after leaking about eighty percent of his gel.
Dulled Senses - Due to his nature as a golem, Laurestine doesn’t see, hear or even feel like others do, his senses are all muted; his hearing is muffled and struggles to pick up quieter or louder noises, he lacks scent. Most interesting is his sight; he can’t see like others do, it’s more of a sense. He can see the basic shape and colors of objects and people, but specific details and any type of writing that isn’t indented is ineligible to him unless its of a magical nature. Due to this though, despite the limits of his sight, it’s untethered by obstructions or obstacles in the way as long as it’s all in his range.
Personality: Laurestine is a bit of a blank slate when it comes to a personality, though it develops by the day! He’s a pretty curious fella, usually to his own detriment; he doesn’t have the greatest sense of self preservation. He’s a pretty sociable golem though, enjoying interactions with others and often actively seeking them out! Other than that, his personality is still pretty new, morphing and building from the experiences he goes through as time goes on.
History: There’s not a lot of history for Laurestine so far; he was created by a powerful sorcerer to act as a scouting golem, searching and foraging for materials and magically charged locations.
Likes: Animals, bees especially, music
Dislikes: Spontaneous loud noises, extreme heat
Other: Laurentine is capable of morphing and shifting the three orbs where his head should be into whatever shapes he desires, as long as he has enough material to make it! He enjoys using this to express in lieu of an actual face.
