Reason for entering: To revive the lightleaf tree in his village
Memento: A pendant which contains a glowing leaf of said tree
Strengths:
-Fast, he runs faster than he flies
-Great endurance
-Above average hearing when ears are held straight up, he will be able to pick up on very quiet and soft noises. He only does this when specifically trying to listen for something, similar to if a human cups their hands behind their ears to amplify their hearing.
Abilities:
-Flight, he can fly dumbo style. While it looks more like gliding, he can gain altitude no problem, however it is not very acrobatic nor can he hover. If a hang glider can do it, then he can do it.
-Airbender, a species trait, he has wind magic. It is used for everyday tasks, not combat.
He can do a simple knockback. Move small weightless things like paper/feathers/leaves with ease and make them dance in the air, forming patterns. Able to make the wind howl/whistle. Cause tailwind/headwind in a small area around him as long as he is stationary.
Weaknesses:
-Light weight, easy to push around.
-Physically weak for his size, unable to push, pull or carry anything heavier than himself.
-Sensitive ears, enough so to feel changes in air currents. Even a small pinch to his ears will hurt and he will go out of his way to keep them from harm, even if it means taking a hit somewhere else.
-Ears bleed a lot if cut.
-Fear of darkness. He will be anxious and jumpy if he is somewhere dark and will try to get to somewhere bright as fast as possible.
-Below average hearing when ears are down, he won't hear soft steps, whispers, light rustling of leaves, and so on. This is his ears' default resting position.
-Can't read regular text. The rakari have their own written language that looks similar to braille, made by making holes in paper with their claws. Rauren will not be able to read the alphabet.
Personality:
-Friendly, he loves to meet new people and talk to them. In his free time he likes to do some dramatic storytelling for everyone to see, often using flower petals and leaves of different colors to create visuals that play out the story.
-Curious, the world is full of wonder and he loves discovering them! Very open to new things.
-Determined, once his mind is set on something, he will do his best to see it through and not much will stop him.
-Helpful, he likes helping others in any way he can and will gladly offer his help if it looks like you need it.
-Trusting, he will trust you until given a reason to not do so. While believing in others, he is not naive, he will figure out if you’re trying to take advantage of him. He will give second chances though.
-Non-violent, won’t intentionally cause physical harm to others, fighting is just not in him.
-Cowardly, when he gets scared his first instinct is to run.
-Unassertive, would rather back down than cause conflict.
-Dishonest (not maliciously), will sugarcoat to spare someone's feelings.
-Low self esteem, he knows where his skills are but doesn’t feel like he can do much beyond them, he often feels useless when outside of his comfort zone. He will try his best at new things but he doesn’t believe in himself while at it, just waiting for it to go wrong.
History:
He is a messenger, responsible of sending and taking down notes of messages/reports from the nearby villages and scouting/hunting parties, it is a job he has always been good at and enjoys doing.
He is a longtime friend to Anacala, an envoy from the Fire Fields. The two of them used to travel around together, exploring different regions, before settling into their current roles as messenger and envoy.
For a few seasons now the great lightleaf tree of their village has been getting weaker, while the rakari has tried to fix it, nothing seems to work and they worry that soon its light won’t be strong enough to keep the shadowfangs away.
Likes: Flying, storytelling, traveling, meeting others and talking to people.
Dislikes: The dark, the shadowfangs, fighting
