The first of many journal entries from Brunhilde. Not essential to her story, but it expands on some aspects of her origin.![]()

4th of the 7th
I met someone curious today. He claimed to be a vicar from a neighboring village, so I suppose he came from Daywood?
He didn't look like a vicar, and he was skulking around the cemetery, but there was something about him. It's like we've been looking for each other for ages.
He said that he could give me answers; "if that's what I want," he said.I want to know more. I want to see him again.
6th of the 7th
I went out to the cemetery again, and he was there: he's a drow elf named Paylah, and he confirmed that he had come from Daywood.
We talked until the sun rose about pretty much everything, and we have that much in common. Just before the sun rose, he told me that he knows ways of reaching the afterlife without dying.
When I asked how, he laughed and told me, "such things can only be shown." His words gnawed at my mind all day.
