Despite it all, Blanca still stood strong. With one arm on Hurvy’s trunk to steady her, she called the remaining competitors. So few were left from the crowd that had once come to win the Endbloom.
“We’re close now.” She said, quiet yet clear. “I need one more ingredient to finish the medicine. But…getting it will be even more difficult than the other three were.”
She pointed over to the sanctuary tree of the Endgrove, the behemoth towering over its center.
“You’ll have to go in the tree itself.” She said, gesturing to the mighty plant. “It has its own small world inside. Yet it still has golden sap at the heart of it like any tree - that’s what I need to purify the corrupted.”
Hurvy pulled on a hesitant smile, his otherwise blank face masking any further expression.
"Things sure have gotten a bit, uh...dicey around here lately, what with the corruption spreading n' all. It's creepin' up through the grove, gettin' a bit too close for comfort... but don't worry! Our pals Strike, Shroud, and Berry will be protecting the tree while you all are inside!"
“A vial of sap is all I need.” Blanca added, weary but hopeful as she handed a small glass container and its stopper to each competitor.
“Be warned, however - the tree may not give it up easily. It can understand what goes on within itself. Purity of purpose and mind appeals to it.”
Caesarion leaned against Hurvy. With a gentle tone, he explained, "The sanctuary tree may delude you with its dead exterior, but it has displayed a deceptively strong ability to repel and even fight off the corruption."
Blanca briefly studied her companion before asking, "Caesarion, are you feeling okay?"
The male forest blinked a few times before moving off of Hurvy's side and drawing a new arrow from his quiver. "I'm fine," he snapped. "This shit is just messing with my sleep schedule.”
Hurvy tilted his head at the green man, frowning. He ultimately nodded and turned back to the small group, pulling the smile back onto his dark lips.
"Our fighting force has got the outside covered! Heh, unfortunately the inside of the tree can get a biiiit funky though. Like...time and space are wiiild, man. Unreal even." His frown returned. "Be careful, my dudes. The tree will fight back if it gets hurt and that's not gonna be fun for anyone..."
Clouds gathered thick and fast over the sun. Blanca looked up, tail flicking, and shivered.
The shadows of the grove grew deeper and blacker.
They began to spread on their own.
“Hurry!” Blanca screamed, joining with Hurvy and Caesarion to cover the competitors’ flight.

RULES:
Round Requirements:
-Show your character finding and collecting the sap at the center of the sanctuary tree. Unlike all the prior rounds, this ingredient cannot be stolen or taken by force; only the tree itself can give up its sap to those it deems pure of intent, though how exactly you interpret that is up to you. An attempt to steal from an opponent would likely not end well for the character in question.
-This is a paired round; returning with a vial of sap is the only win condition. Your character may choose to cooperate with, sabotage, or directly fight their opponent. They may also encounter other competitors if you wish, but the focus must be primarily on your pairing.
-As long as your character returns with the vial of sap before their opponent does, they will move on to the next round. If both return at the same time, the one gauged to have the purest intent will move to the final round. Again, how exactly you interpret this is up to you.
General Rules:
1. Characters are not paired by Blanca this time, due to the chaos caused by the corruption. Instead the tree itself will put the two pairings together to test their purity of intent against one another. While navigating the tree, closer proximity will make it clear which characters have been paired up. The entrance is a door in the trunk outlined in light that will appear and open when the competitors are close enough.
2. Characters paired with each other will be made to interact while in the tree, maneuvered by its shifting interior to confront each other at least twice before they reach the center where the sap is. What exactly the center looks like is up to you; however, it is the only place where sap is kept.
3. Only a small vial of sap is needed, and only a small vial of sap will be given by the tree to those it chooses. The vials are clear, made of highly durable glass with small glass stoppers.
4. The inside of the tree is much larger than it looks from the outside. As Blanca says, it is its own sort of pocket dimension, appearing as a hollowed out tree with wooden paths and bridges spread through it, but aside from that you may depict it as you wish.
5. While the corrupted are being kept at bay by Shroud, Strike, and Berry, the tree has its own hazards; distance and gravity are both inconsistent, and can easily disorient a competitor even if they do not cause direct harm. If the tree’s interior is harmed, it may retaliate with vines or wooden constructs to protect itself.
6. Opponent characters may be injured or killed; however, showing any characters besides your own and your opponent’s being injured or killed is still forbidden.
